Eye Bags Surgery in Antalya, Turkey | Lower Blepharoplasty by Dr. Emir Doğan

Eliminate tired-looking lower eye bags and smooth your under-eye area with lower blepharoplasty in Antalya. Specialized Oculoplastic Surgeon Dr. Emir Doğan offers advanced, scarless, and natural under-eye rejuvenation.

Lower eyelid bagginess can cause a lot of stress that can impact your life in a big way. Baggy lower eyelids can influence how you feel, both physically and mentally, and how others see you. If a patient has loose, sagging skin or puffy bags beneath their eyes, this procedure can help reduce these unwanted effects and leave the eyes looking young and fresh.

Transconjunctival blepharoplasty: The incision is carefully made inside the lower lid so that the skin is not directly cut and hence no visible scars. The transconjunctival approach allows for direct access to the prominent fat pockets. Excess fat pockets can be removed  through this approach. The fine wrinkles or excess skin cannot be improved with a transconjunctival procedure alone.

Transcutaneous blepharoplasty: This is a well-described lower lid cosmetic surgery procedure, which involves directly removing excess lower lid skin at the same time as removing excess fat.  Excess fat pockets can still be removed or repositioned with this procedure.      The lower eyelid blepharoplasty procedure is performed with either local or IV sedation anesthesia. The method or procedure to be used will be determined by the amount of fat that needs to be removed, the location of the fat and how tight to make the eyelid. The procedure typically takes from 45 minutes to an hour. After the lower eyelid blepharoplasty procedure, we recommend applying lubricating drops and  ointment and cold compresses to aid in the healing process and minimize side effects such as:

• Swelling

• Bruising

• Irritation

• Dry eyes

Patients can usually return to work within a 1 week, but should avoid exercise and strenuous activities for at least two weeks. Stitches are usually removed 7-8  days after the procedure. Swelling and other side effects usually subside within two weeks after surgery. Contact lenses and eyelid make-up may not be worn for two weeks after surgery.

  • Q: Will eye bag removal surgery leave noticeable scars?

A: In many cases, incisions can be made inside the eyelid (transconjunctival approach), leaving no visible external scar. If external skin needs removal, the incision is concealed right beneath the lower lash line.

  • Q: Is lower eyelid surgery permanent?

A: Yes, fat bags removed or repositioned during surgery rarely return, offering long-lasting rejuvenation results for many years.

  • Q: How long should I stay in Antalya after the surgery?

A: We recommend staying 4 to 6days in Antalya. This allows time for recovery monitoring and your final check-up prior to flying home.
